"The Festive
Stargazer Indaba"
We met at the Scout Camp at Lake MacDonald near Cooroy on the Saturday.
The weather was warm, and sunny, the atmosphere laid back.
Some sat and chatted, some wandered the forest tracks and one even went fishing.
As evening came, the cooking facilities were put to good use, with a
wide variety of sumpuous dishes created with flair... and demolished with gusto!
After the washing up we braved the darkness for a night walk, seeking the
nocturnal creatures of this area. Unfortunately, apart from one Tawny Frogmouth Owl, they
remained hidden from our gaze. Pauline did, however, find one miniscule
"glowing mushroom"...
We returned and relaxed, and then began the competition. The jokes
flowed and the laughter peppered the still night air.... The eventual winner was
Gail, who was presented with the "Cockroach Award"
As the evening progressed, and small? tipples were taken, the talk moved
to the "other" item for the evening.... "The Naked Full Moon Fire
Dance".....
Did it actually happen? We're not saying here..... All will be
revealed at the 2002 Festive Breakup.....
Sixteen "Indabans" had decided to stay the night, and tucked
into their beds for what remained of the night.

Sunday was again a hot and sunny day. Some more members arrived,
and a short meeting was held. Lea won the bottle of Port in the raffle (thanks to all who
bought tickets) and we again tucked into a great lunch, with lots of light hearted
chatter.
We were even treated to a lesson in giant worm catching by one of the ever present
kookaburras.

Many thanks to all for your friendship and good humour over this
