The Magical Mountain
Indaba
Again it was a long weekend, so there
was not a large turnup. Seven Indabans (and a dog) met at the park behind the Majestic
Theatre in Pomona. We had a relaxed morning tea, with lots of chatting and "catching
up" on the latest news and happenings.

Five of us moved on to
the "Mountain Park" at the base of Mt Cooroora, the stony sentinel that rises
435 metres above sea level, and is the second highest mountain in the Noosa - Cooloola
region. The place was abuzz with activity as another group of people and kids climbed and
explored.
We began to climb, but made a slight
detour to marvel at the rock strata that was clearly visible in the walls of a now disused
quarry.

Awesome!

We continued on up the
track, noting the trees, rocks and other climbers.

Getting steep...

After a short, steep
climb we turned left off the main track and headed towards the lower lookout. The view was
fabulous, with clear vision out across lake Cootharaba, and to the ocean beyond the north
shore... We could see the town of Pomona below us, and Noosa in the distance.

We made our way back down
to the park and had a leisurely lunch before departing with hugs all round. This had been
a magnificent day.
